Bobbi Brown: Foundation Stick & Long Wear Gel Eyeliner

I forgot to blog about it but I was really planning to. Back when Basyang hit the country, my sister and I came to Makati the next day (for work) and found it empty. We didn't know that there was a system blackout everywhere so we were already in Makati at around 7 am. At work, no one could do anything since the buildings ran on generator power. So we decided to go to Glorietta.

We went to Rustan's and she asked her favorite sales attendant, Ms. B or Bea of Bobbi Brown to give me a makeover. While doing my makeup, Ms. B also gave me some tips on what products to use and how best to use them.

Since I came from a makeup session the weekend before that, I listened intently and purchased some of the products she showed me such as the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick and the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner (Black).

Ms. B also taught me the right way of applying gel eyeliner. I found that gel eyeliner is better and easier to apply compared to the pencil or the liquid eyeliner, which I found is very messy and tends to have an unnatural look after a while. But the gel eyeliner did not have the same effect.

To apply the gel eyeliner, the best brush to use is the Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush by Bobbi Brown as well. That's what I'm planning to buy next time! Or even take a one-hour makeup session by Ms. B and have the P1000 fee converted to the brush. ^,^

Here's the result of the makeover!

See you soon Ms. B! :)

Suesh Basic Make-Up Workshop

I was the first to arrive... If I knew what I was in for, I would have arrived late.

For my 24th birthday [yes, your host is now 24], my sister, Bubot gave me a treat. She got me free basic make-up classes with Suesh. If you can all remember my entry for I Commit to Change, I mentioned that I was going to learn how to make myself look prettier. And this included learning to put on make-up the right way.

I used to be a fan of make-up back in 2008. That was the time when I was always with VIBE Manila so I needed to look good. When I became M.I.A. though, I stopped using make-up except for special occasions such as my cousin, Marielle’s wedding.

Thanks Raissa Sibolboro for making me look pretty that night!

And since I was already with SPARK, I needed to look my best. I am representing the magazine and I know I have to be on my guard. And this is why I attended the workshop a week after my birthday.

July 10, 2010, I arrived at Suesh studio in Greenhills. And knowing me, I was the first to arrive among my class. This did not work for my advantage though as I was chosen by Suzanne Tan to be the model while she demonstrated to the class how to put on make-up. [sorry, no pictures here.]

Suzanne teaching us how to do our eyebrows

Suzanne put make-up on the right side of my face, leaving me to work with the left. So after the demo, I got up and positioned myself with the class. We all did day and night make-up on our faces.

This is my night make-up.

The regime was to put make-up in this format:

1. Foundation

2. Concealer

3. Eyebrow

4. Eyeshadow

5. Eyeliner

6. Eyelash Curler

7. Cheeks

8. Lips

Once I get more knowledgeable on make-up, I’ll expound on each step to give you guys more ideas. But for now, let’s just settle with that and this before and after pictures, okay? ^,^

July 15, 2010: No Pay + No Electricity = :,(

So there’s still no electricity at home. Boohoo. I end up with no pay for the magazine but at least I was able to get the money from my other gig. [Salamat!] Paid the bills… Globe and HSBC. Still have pending balance for my other card though but with the amount of work I have left, they should be enough.

With no electricity YET, I decided to spend the evening at Greenbelt with my friend, Angel. Sadly, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf did not have internet connection too! So I was stuck editing photos and did some grocery instead.

When Angel and I met up, we decided to eat dinner at Yellow Cab. We got the Pepperoni and Mushroom 10” pizza and waited for Martin and his friend Mark to show up. Out of the 10” pizza, Angel and I were only able to eat 2 slices each. So the remaining 4, she had to take home.

After a while, Martin and Mark showed up. We chatted for a bit and talked about a particular scenario that just occurred during the day. Private info though as he might be reading this…. [Who’s the stalker now?] ^,^

Martin looks scary here...

We then went to Red Mango to get our (Angel & I) addiction remedy: YOGURT! Seriously, Angel and I loves yogurt so much there was one time we ate a serving every other day! And of course, that meant we ended up broke for the next few weeks. Lately though, I’ve been MIA (missing in action, mind you) since my birthday. And I told her that I would be saving money from our yogurt trips. Last night was an exception though since there was still no electricity at home.

Martin and his huge order, Me, Angel

I got the small Original yogurt topped with grapes and crushed Graham crackers. It was so good!!! =) Angel got small Green Tea yogurt and topped it with motchi while Martin got large [?] Green Tea yogurt. We took pictures and the two boys talked about Toy porn, Katrina Halili, and what-nots. While Angel and I chatted about make-up, work, and our pets: Ponti and Motchi.

Eat Batman Eat!

We’re going to watch Inception later.. I can’t wait!
